Create a vision journal!
by Che Garman
Most people understand the importance of having goals written down. Putting something in writing is a great way to make it more concrete in our lives. But if you want to fast track your goals, a vision journal works even better!
A vision journal is like a vision board, but more detailed. It contains all your written goals, as well as your action plans for achieving them. It includes reminders of all the process goals you want to do on a daily basis. These goals are then combined with images, affirmations, quotes, and any other form of inspiration or motivation that supports your dream.

Because your vision journal is portable, you can carry it with you at all times and refer to it whenever you have a few minutes to spare. I find that a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" spiral-bound journal works best. Unlined pages allow for greater creativity, but lined pages are better for writing text. If you can find a journal that has alternating lined - unlined pages, such as travel journals, all the better. I buy unlined art journals and then paste in anything that has been written or typed.
Include lots of images in your journal because these will help you visualize your goals. Include your affirmations as well, so you don't have to put them to memory. Adding your favorite quotes, will provide motivation and inspiration when most needed. And use different pens to write with - your brain is visual, so the more colorful or interesting you can make your journal, the more you will impress your subconscious mind.
I like to include text clippings as well (large colorful words cut from magazines). Look for your favorite power words or slogans. They can become quick triggers for the actions you want to reinforce daily. I also like to feature empowering questions that I want to keep asking myself, such as, "How are my current thoughts creating my future?", or "What negative beliefs are causing me the most problems right now?".
A vision journal is a concrete representation of your goals and dreams. Make it as inspiring, motivating, and empowering as you can. And carry it with you... always!
